I've created this blog to allow my family and friends to see some of the places and things I have found interesting in my daily travels. I hope this gives you a glimpse into my life as an over-the-road truck driver.

My last trip for the year 2005, was to Salt Lake City, Ut. I came out of Savannah, Ga. with a load of excavcators. I don't go west to often so I was looking forward to this trip as it took me home for Christmas. I left the monday after Christmas and it was a really good trip. I did hit some wind in Wy. but that is not is common I think. When I got unloaded there was what looked like a fog bank over the mountain to the east of Salt Lake. I was sure that it was nothing to worry about as it was in the 40s in the City. As I started east toward Iowa for my next load I started getting into the snow. When I got to Sinclair Wy. it was ice, time to stop, will not drive on ice. That night in the truck stop I met a couple of drivers for Steward, who as were I, not driving on ice. The next morning over coffee our waiteress said that she lived in Medicine Bow and the road were good that way. Ed and Tom said they were going that way and they would show me the way if I wanted to follow them. The only thing we would have to watch for is the deer in Medicine Bow [this is what I found so interesting on this trip]. Sure enough when we got to the town of Medicine Bow, Wy. there was a herd of deer walking down the road and we had to wait for them to move. The people there say the deer think this is there town. I made it back to Iowa and got my next load without any problems. Thanks Ed and Tom for the short cut and I will always remember the town that the deer own.
